About The Sketchley Method (TSM)
The Sketchley Method is the nation’s leading resource on the prevention of the maltreatment (abuse, neglect, and exploitation) of elders and people with disabilities. Our focus is directed specifically
What is not discussed is how these crimes are dramatically on the rise across America. Experts report that 1/3 of the nation’s wealth is held by people age 65 and older. The close of 2015 saw over 2,000,000 reported elder abuse cases, a figure that has dramatically increased since 2000 when only approximately 500,000 cases were reported to law enforcement. The Sketchley Method was created to give a voice to the very real issues of fraud, abuse, theft and exploitation that vulnerable elders and disabled individuals face on a daily basis.
But we didn’t just create a website to tell you there’s a problem in America.
Instead, we provide you the resources you need to be an active participant
We go a step further too. Each week we address breaking news as it happens across the nation (and possibly in your hometown!) and deliver it right to your inbox in TSM’s The Maltreatment Minute Newsletter (subscribe below). This is information you can personally use or share with your friends, family, co-workers, or even use in your own company.
We are creating an educated, activated community comprised of citizens at risk, those who care about and for them, and combining it with the power of an informed professional network across America.
We want you to be a part of it. Don’t wait to get involved – inaction and silence are how this spreads.
